I have been working as a counsellor in Derby for more than ten years. I use what’s known as an integrative approach to counselling which means that I make use of various theoretical models and therapeutic tools which, I hope, allows me to fit my practice to the varied needs of my clients. The main focus of my approach is guided (not exclusively) by existential, person centred, and cognitive practices.
I have extensive experience of working in areas such as relationship problems, depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem, alcohol and/or drug abuse, sexuality issues, and dealing with anger. There are many things that counselling can help with. Coaching can also play an important part, for example: it can be hard to focus on personal issues if the work environment is generating too much stress.
I work both with individuals and with couples. Whether you are having difficulty coping with your present circumstances, or are troubled by things which happened long ago, counselling can have a huge positive impact on your life.
